What is CSA?

IMG_3984.HEIC

Community Supported Agriculture is a farm model that directly links the community to a farm and its farmers. CSA members are given the opportunity to support young farmers by paying in advance. By paying before the season starts, this not only supplies the farmer with secure sales of crops throughout the growing season, it also makes it possible for a young farm to cover early expenses like compost, labor, and seeds. In return, CSA members have secured their share of the harvest and will meet at the drop location to pick up their vegetables.

What we Offer

IMG_4623.HEIC

Floating Lotus Farmstead is offering a 16  week Spring & a 16 week  Fall CSA program for the 2023 growing season. The Spring program will start in early May and last until early August. The Fall program will then start in mid August and last until early December. We offer full shares for pick up weekly and half shares for pick up biweekly.

How Our Full Choice Program Works

A few days before CSA pick up day, members will receive a text reminder to head over to our website - to the Members Only page. Once on that page, members will fill out the form and be able to choose the items in their share. Regular shares consists of 6 points, and Large shares consist of 10 points worth of nutrient dense vegetables and herbs. Members will have until end of day on Thursdays to answer with their choices, as we will be harvesting in the morning. Members will then meet at the pick up location of their choice to pick up their share of the bounty!

A regular 6 point share feeds conservatively 2 people, however someone with a plant based diet will alone consume a full share weekly. This season we are offering the 10 point option for those members who really enjoy their veggies, or for families with multiple members.

You can buy as many shares as you would like. Example: if you buy two Regular shares, your share will consist of your choice of 12 points of vegetables and/or herbs for the Season.

This season we have teamed up with other local farmers and vendors to offer our members specialty items in their share! Some examples being Randalia Farms Bee Hives' local Honey, Soaps, & Sweets, Purple Mountain Grown Old Fashioned Oats, Next Step Produce Organic Brown Rice, Gluten Free Products, and much more!

Sundays - InGrano Bakery Annapolis- 10am - 4pm*

Sundays - HopScratch Farm Harwood - 1pm until 4pm*

Sundays - Dunkirk Wine & Spirits - 3pm until 6pm*

Sundays - Fishpaw's Market Place - TBD until 8pm*

*Please note pick up locations are NOT hand off locations. We will drop off your shares in the store and then send you a text to come and pick up your bag (with your name on it).

As our program is points based, if you need to miss a pick up you are able to use the missed points in your next share. All points must be used by the end of the seasonal program. No points will be rolled over into a following season. We require a 48 hour notice if you are missing a pick up.

Shares can be purchased here on our website using a card or by mailing the application form and check addressed to Floating Lotus Farmstead, to the farm.

"The enthusiasm of Adam and Jocelyne for farming and creating accessible and healthy options for delectable produce is infectious.  They have transformed our family from one that reluctantly steamed broccoli every night to one that now includes a colorful and varied selection of vegetables on the dinner table every night.  Thank you, Floating Lotus!"

"During our seasons with Floating Lotus we have found ourselves eagerly anticipating our weekly deliveries and the bounty they will yield.  As a family, we have learned about nutrient rich vegetables we had never before eaten, and we have had so much fun discovering new recipes to prepare them."
