Little Farmers: Garlic Planting!
Our next Homeschool Farm Day is coming up Wednesday, November 18th at 11:00 AM at Floating Lotus Farmstead!
This time, we're getting our hands dirty and learning all about GARLIC! Children will discover how garlic grows, why we plant it in the Fall, and what happens beneath the soil during the colder months. Then, they'll get to plant garlic themselves and experience the beginning of next year's harvest!
If time permits, we'll head into the fields to harvest some of our late-Fall vegetables. We'll also have several adorable baby farm animals for the kids to see!
As always, after our guided activities, families are welcome to enjoy the farm at their own pace for an hour. Pack a picnic, continue your homeschool lessons surrounded by nature, or explore our woodland hiking trails and stream.

Fresh Farm Salad Available! We'll also have delicious, farm fresh salad with a selection of dressings available for just $4 per ticket—a perfect addition to your picnic lunch on the farm!

*Please note: If your family does not include a child aged 3 or older, a minimum purchase of one $7 ticket is required to participate.

Homeschool Farm Days

Bring learning to life with a visit to Floating Lotus Farmstead! Our homeschool visits include a guided tour of the farm and a hands-on agricultural experience for children. Depending on the season, students may harvest a vegetable to take home, enjoy a fresh farm snack, plant a seed, or participate in another interactive farm activity.

Homeschool Visit Fee: $5-$10 per child depending on the activity - (adults & infants are free)
This small fee helps support educational programming on the farm and future improvements to our homeschool learning spaces.
After the tour, families and homeschool groups are welcome to use our property as an outdoor classroom and continue their lessons in nature. Explore our woodland trails, enjoy some stream play, or gather in our grassy open space nestled among the trees for group activities, reading, nature study, or free exploration.
Students will also have the opportunity to learn about our farm animals, including our sheep and cows. During certain times of the year, we will be able to arrange special educational experiences featuring newborn lambs or calves.

All proceeds from homeschool visits will go toward the construction of a pavilion barn in our woodland field, creating a dedicated space for educational programs, community events, and future homeschool activities.
